Institute of Food & Agricultural Ethics

Rev. Dr. Remigiose Maria Paul Inchananiyil is the current Bishop of Thamarassery. He holds Doctorate in Oriental Canon Law from Pontifical Holy Cross University Rome, Italy. He is the Chairman of Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council’s (KCBC) Commission for Indian Farmers Movement (INFAM). He is a steadfast promoter of Farmers’ rights and supporter of biodiversity and environment protection. He is the founder of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Ethics (IFAE), the first institute in India for the study and research in the field of Food and Agricultural Ethics.

Rev. Msgr. Abraham Vayalil is the Protosyncellus of the Diocese of Thamarassery. He holds a Licentiate in Oriental Canon Law, from Institute of Oriental Canon Law a Dharmaram Vidya Kshethra, Bengaluru. He served the diocese as parish priest in several parishes, and as Vice-Rector of St. Alphonsa Minor Seminary, Director of Karunabhavan, Eparchial Judge, Resident Manager of Rashtra Deepika Limited, and Judicial Vicar of Eparchial Tribunal.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Pulinchuvattil is the current Director of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Ethics (IFAE). He holds a Doctorate in Moral Theology from Pontifical Holy Cross University Rome, a Master Degree in Bioethics, from Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Gemelli, Rome, Italy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Bioethics from Pontifical University of Regina Apostolorum, Rome, Italy.

He was the Founder Director of Pope John Paul II Institute of Counselling and Bioethics, and served the diocese in various significant roles such as Director of Family Apostolate, Director of Diocesan Pro-life Movement, Director of Pastoral and Missionary Orientation Centre (PMOC), Member of Diocesan College of Consultors, Member of Diocesan Financial Council. He is a former member of Pontifical Academy of Life, Rome, Italy (2006-2016).

Fr. Thomas (Sai) Parankulangara is the Managing Director of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Ethics (IFAE). He holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy and an Msc in Psychology. He has served the Diocese in various capacities, including as Parish Priest in several Parishes. Additionally, he has held positions such as Resident Manager of Deepika, Director of Karuna Hostel, Deedpika Friends Club (DFC), Kerala Catholic Youth Movement(KCYM), Kudumbakoottaima, Lahari Virudha Samithi and Prison Ministry. Currently, he also serves as the Director of the Centre for Overall Development(COD), the social wing of the diocese of Thamarassery and the Leadership Development Society (LDS).

Fr. Jithin George Narivelil is the Assistant Director of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Ethics (IFAE) . Previously, he served as the Assistant Parish Priest at St. Joseph's Church Pulloorampara and also at St. Sebastian’s Church Koodaranhi. He was also served as the Assistant Director of St. Thomas Academy of Research and Training (START) Kozhikode. He holds a Short NIS from the Banglore Sports Authority of India. Currently, he also fulfills the role of Assistant Parish Priest at Marymatha Cathedral Church, Thamarassery.

Fr. Benny Punnoose Mundanatte is the Chancellor of the Diocese of Thamarassery. He holds a Licentiate in Oriental Canon Law, from Dharmaram Vidya Kshetra, Bangalore. He served the diocese as Diocesan Director of Catechism and Bible Apostolates, Resident Manager and the Director of Rashtra Deepika Ltd, Director of Bethania Renewal Centre and Member of Diocesan Finance Council, Member of college of Eparchial Consulters and Eparchial Judge.

Rev. Fr. Mathew Pulimmottil is the Parish Priest of the Mary Matha Cathedral Church, Thamarassery. He served the Diocese as the Director of Pastoral and Missionary Orientation Centre (PMOC), Member of Diocesan College of Consultors, Member of Diocesan Financial Council, Finance Officer of the Major Archiepiscopal Curia of the Syro-Malabar Church at Ernakulam and the Financial Officer of the Diocese of Thamarassery.

Fr. Sebastian Kavalakkatt is the Chancellor of the Diocese of Thamarassery. He holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Theology from the Institute of Redemptor Hominis, Pontifical Lateran University, Rome. Prior to his current role, he has held positions such as Parish Priest in various Parishes, as well as Director of Youth Apostolate, Pastoral Centre (PMOC), Good Shepherd Priest Home, and Family Apostolate within the Diocese.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Kavilpurayidathil is the Vice Chancellor and Public Relation Officer of the Major Archiepiscopal Curia of the Syro Malabar Church. He holds a Doctorate in Oriental Canon law from the Pontifical Oriental institute, Rome and Licentiate in Latin Canon Law from Pontifical Holy Cross University, Rome. He served the Diocese as Diocesan Chancellor, Diocesan Public Relations Officer, Member College of Consultors and Eparchial Judge. He is a visiting faculty and prominent public speaker.

Very. Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Mukala is the current Financial Officer of the Diocese of Thamarassery. He served the Diocese as the Parish Priest in several Parishes and also as the Vocation Promotor, the Manager of Alphonsa College at Thiruvampady and the Manager of Alphonsa School at Thamarassery. He is also a Member of Diocesan College of Consultors, Chairman of the Diocesan Financial Council.
